As you may have read in our September blog, Twin Rivers sought Safe Quality Food (SQF) Certification for Kosher & Halal Products. The SQF Institute is a division of the Food Marketing Institute (FMI) who recognizes TRT as a HACCP Based Food Safety Plan Supplier. We have been SQF certified for our glycerin, however, we realized the importance of expanding upon our certification and having the ability to offer SQF certified Kosher and Halal products.
Sustainability is core to TRT's mission and vision. In order to measure ourselves against other companies and industries, TRT registered with Ecovadis, a third party that measures sustainability success. EcoVadis provides holistic Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) ratings service of companies and covers a broad range of non-financial management systems including Environmental, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement impacts. Each company is assessed on the material issues as they pertain to their company's size, location and industry. To date, EcoVadis has assessed over 50,000 trading partners worldwide, mitigating risk for some of the world's largest organizations, while positively impacting the environments, fostering transparency and driving innovation. In 2018, TRT was proud to be able to boast a gold CSR Rating with Ecovadis.
REACH, which is a regulation of the European Union, was adopted to improve the protection of human 
health and the environment from the risks that can be posed by chemicals. To comply with the regulation, companies must identify and manage the risks linked to the substances they manufacture and market in the EU. They have to demonstrate to ECHA how the substance can be safely used, and they must communicate the risk management measures to the users. REACH is an important part of TRT's Sustainability platform.
