Twin Rivers Oleic Acid is a 100% naturally derived fatty acid derived from Vegetable Oil. This long chain fatty acid is resistant to oxidation and rancidity and is used as a chemical intermediate for multiple end uses. The TRT Whole Cut Soy and Whole Cut Canola Fatty Acids are used in similar applications and round out our Unsaturated Fatty Acid portfolio.

Halal Products

Halal is a word that in Arabic means permissible. With respect to food products, it means that which is permissible according to Islamic laws.

Each year, Twin Rivers Technologies participates in a Halal audit performed by the Halal Advisory Group. Consequently, TRT has a listing of fatty acid products that are Halal Certified. This certification shows that TRT is committed to produce halal products consistently. Though millions of Muslim consumers around the world have limited access to halal certified products, TRT offers a Halal portfolio for this under-served demographic. Additionally, in 2019, Twin Rivers received SQF certification on all of our current Halal products.

Kosher Products

Twin Rivers has invested in our Quincy, MA facility to allow for the expansion of our Kosher capabilities. In addition to several products certified as different grades of Kosher. This includes Kosher for Laundry, Kosher for Passover, and Food Grade Kosher products in glycerin, coconut, caproic, caprylic, soybean and stearic acid products. All TRT Kosher products are certified as being fit for consumption under Jewish dietary laws. Additionally, all TRT Kosher products can be used with any machinery or equipment that comes into contact with Kosher food products.

Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil

Twin Rivers is a committed, responsible partner having become certified by the Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) in 2015. RSPO is a multi-stakeholder initiative to reduce the negative impacts of palm oil cultivation on the environment and communities. In order to support this initiative, Twin Rivers offers a comprehensive list of vegetable fatty acid and glycerin made with certified sustainable mass balance palm oil. The volume of palm oil in these products reflects an equivalent volume of palm oil or palm kernel oil produced by RSPO certified mills and plantations. We remain the leader in our industry for renewable and certified-sustainable raw materials, with nearly one quarter of our product line offered as RSPO Certified Sustainability Mass Balance Fatty Acids & Glycerin.
