TRT's Sustainability Program has evolved significantly since its inception, transitioning from a reporting tool to a vehicle for meaningful change. Our objectives are firmly rooted in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, guiding our strategic decisions and operational priorities.

In 2023, TRT achieved a pivotal milestone by completing the transition from tallow to vegetable oil, effectively reducing nearly all Scope 3 emissions associated with raw material supply via rail or tanker trucks. Additionally, our commitment to using products with lower land use a nd processing demands has further minimized the environmental impact of our supply chain. This achievement is underscored by the results of our carbon footprinting project conducted in collaboration with one of our key Customers, which has been extended to encompass all our products. Furthermore, our use of coconut oil, RSPO mass balanced palm oil, Canola and soybean oil has enabled us to offer many of our products as Kosher, Halal, and Safe Quality Food Certified.
Every day at TRT, we strive for continuous improvement. Our sustainability program, anchored in the pillars of People, Planet, and Performance, has led to the development of a Strategic Emissions Reduction Plan. This plan aims to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, aligning with the objectives of the UN Science Based Target Initiative and the ACI 1.5C Climate Challenge. Leveraging the insights gained from our carbon footprinting efforts, we will be identifying opportunities to enhance our sustainability efforts, particularly in reducing our reliance on fossil fuel-generated electricity, optimizing our supply chain, and improving resource efficiency.
